WHY LEARN IV SEDATION?

Were you aware that the average dental fear patient needs $1000 in care for every year since their last dental visit?

Practices performing IV sedation attract patients that will increase your productivity and advance the image of your practice as a leader in the level of care offered in your community.

IV Sedation Training for Dentists LLC uses a unique approach for your didactic training.  You’ll complete 60 hours of didactic study, including 30 hours of live interactive virtual training plus 30 hours of classic classroom training.

A COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING

Your training will cover airway management, medical emergencies, and includes ACLS certification as part of the curriculum.  You’ll learn practical ways to implement sedation in your practice, and also receive free bonus materials on how to treatment plan most effectively with sedation patients. And you’ll have access to online material after the live presentations via your online account.

You’ll also receive 20 live patient experiences over four days of clinical training, where our clinic is structured to allow you to concentrate on learning the intricacies of safe IV sedation while a separate dentist performs operative and surgical procedures.

Our course uniquely teaches you safe and proven protocols in Oral Sedation, IV sedation (with or without oral premedication) and the use of NuCalm/Nitrous Oxide.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define and explore the levels of sedation continuum to distinguish between conscious and unconscious sedation.

  • Understand how to properly evaluate a patient for suitability and safety, including their medical history and physical exam.

  • Develop confidence at monitoring patients during sedation.

  • Learn how to apply principles of oral sedation, IV sedation and NuCalm to obtain predictable clinical results.
  • Gain competency in venipuncture and administering sedation medications safely.

  • Understand the pharmacology and potential drug interactions with oral and IV sedatives.

  • Know how to react and properly handle complications and medical emergencies.

You will see 20 patients over four clinic days, scheduled for two weekends on Friday and Saturday. You will directly sedate patients, monitored closely by our faculty.

Our patients are charity patients that receive their work gratis. Out of state dentists can qualify for a charitable Kentucky dental license for a minimal fee by applying at Charitable Limited Licensure - Board of Dentistry.

When you complete your training, you’ll be ready to incorporate IV sedation in your practice with confidence.
